Tanya
Practice Manager
Tanya has worked with Dr Licina as his Practice Manager for 10 years. Her role in the practice is to ensure optimal staff performance and efficient administrative systems to provide superior patient service. With a Bachelor of Commerce degree and over 20 years of experience in the Human Resources field, Tanya manages staff recruitment, training, development, and counselling in the practice. Tanya would like to thank the team of extremely competent, dedicated, and caring staff who help to achieve Dr Licina's high standards of patient care.

Virginia
Secretary
Virginia has worked with Dr Licina for over eight years and co-ordinates many aspects of the practice that relate to patient appointments, treatment and Dr Licina’s work diary. She organizes investigations, follow up appointments and urgent referrals to other specialists as well as co-ordinating pre-op appointments and post-op clinics with the physiotherapist. Virginia is responsible for the collecting of consultation and surgery fees, banking and handles any patient queries regarding appointments, fees and private insurance.
Virginia worked for many years in a family business doing wages and bookkeeping while she had a young family. Virginia has worked in the medical field since 1994, initially as a receptionist and then as practice manager in GP practices in both Brisbane and Cairns. She commenced working with Dr Licina at Brisbane Private Hospital in 2001 and moved with the practice to Holy Spirit Northside in 2005.
Virginia’s organizational skills and high level of patient care facilitate the smooth running of the practice. She aims to provide the highest level of care and assistance to all patients during the course of their treatment by Dr Licina.

Shelley
Clinical Nurse
Shelley joined Dr Licina’s practice in 2001. She assists Dr Licina in triaging patients’ appointments, obtaining clinical histories and liaising with other health professionals to optimise patient outcomes. She provides pre- and post-operative education to patients and their families and has been responsible for developing and refining hospital and patient clinical pathways for Dr Licina’s practice. Shelley has a diverse clinical and educational background working extensively in orthopaedic, emergency care, medical and surgical nursing in both the private and public health systems. She has also completed a Bachelor of Business and has a strong commitment to improving the quality of care of patients with spinal disorders.

Michelle
Medicolegal & Communications Co-ordinator
Michelle liaises with WorkCover QLD and legal firms regarding all workers compensation and medicolegal matters. She also makes sure all of Dr Licina's consultation letters are sent to the referring doctors and patients in a timely manner. Michelle has a Bachelor of Business which assisted her in achieving senior sales & marketing roles with companies such as Reckitt & Colman and Microsoft.
This is her first role within the medical field and her experience with liaising with major accounts ensures that WorkCover and Solicitors are provided with excellent service levels. She also supports the IT requirements of the practice when required.

Stephanie
Research Assistant
Stephanie works with Dr Licina for the QUT Northside Spine Research Group. She is currently involved in several projects for which she coordinates, collates, analyses and presents data generated from patients who have had surgery with Dr Licina. Stephanie has a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biomedical Science. This is her first scientific research role outside of university studies. Stephanie aims that her involvement in the research group will help produce interesting and relevant research, and contribute to improving the quality of care of patient with spinal disorders.

Sharon
Appointments Co-ordinator
Sharon joined the practice in 2007 and coordinates all patient appointments. This includes collating all patient information, arranging investigations, managing the clinic diary and liaising with patients. Sharon is responsible for ensuring that all patients see Dr Licina within appropriate timescales and deals with all queries relating to appointment requests.
She worked previously as a Business and Project Manager for a UK private healthcare group and has over ten years experience within a healthcare environment. Prior to that she worked in the British civil service as diary secretary for various government ministers.
Sharon uses her experience and organisational skills to ensure that all patients receive a professional and caring service.

Lisa
Surgery/Administration Co-ordinator
Lisa is part of our reception team and has five years of administrative experience in the orthopaedic field. She liaises with our patients to determine suitable dates for surgical procedures and coordinates many aspects of surgery booking. This includes liaising with both hospital bookings, theatre administration, Dr Licina’s medical team and various medical equipment companies. Lisa’s role also involves answering the phone and administrative tasks to ensure prompt attention to all referrals that come through the practice. Lisa contributes to the excellent professional service that we strive to provide to all our patients.
